In the 20th century, when multitudes paid homage to art (and still do), archangels were critics whose messages served to warn, interpret and guide the true believers of the art world.

Uriel (Robert Hughes), the sharpest sighted spirit in all of Heaven, warned of impending disaster. Specifically, he wanted Noah of the coming of the flood. Robert Hughes wrote about art and other things for Time magazine. Somehow in my mind I saw a connection between him and Uriel.

I think Robert Hughes felt that the days of abstract are were numbered.
